Buster (or Buzzy) is a very sweet 5-year old mini Aussie doodle (25 pounds) living in Seattle. He is neutered and has had all the basic vaccines.
Buster knows some commands and I’m sure would love to learn more tricks. He will do just about anything for a treat! He is a great leash walker. He LOVES cuddles, walks, playing with his toys, tearing apart cardboard, and a predictable routine! He lives with two other dogs and has done fine with them. He also lived with a cat and did great with her.
Buster has been around children and is amazing and very sweet with calm kids who understand dog boundaries. But like a lot of herding dog breeds, he has struggled with kids who are too quick to greet or run around him. He will bark at them to get them to stop. Because of this we think Buster would do best in a home with either older, dog-respectful children or no children at all.
Buster will bark at guests until he is greeted with a treat. Then he will calm down and say hello. He really loves people and is enthusiastic about pets and cuddles from the people he meets!
While Buster loves to say hello to friendly dogs while on walks in the neighborhood, he does bark at reactive dogs. Walking away from the reactive dog helps him move past his initial reaction.
Buster has been the sweetest, cuddliest addition to our family. Unfortunately, he has anxiety that our family is unable to find a resolution for. He is taking two anxiety meds and we've worked with a professional trainer to help him. Buster is also dealing with intermittent pancreatitis which our veterinarian believes might be anxiety induced. We've changed his diet to strictly low fat to see if that helps.
We’re heartbroken to say goodbye but are hoping a new environment with a patient, thoughtful family will help with his anxiety. We want what's best for him and our lifestyle doesn't seem to work for his temperament. Buster will be greatly missed. We can be reached at [email protected] or 530-638-9229.
