Buster
Denver, CO

Tall, dark and handsome cowboy seeks a lifetime partner for adventures and snuggles.
Buster Brown comes to us from Houston, TX and appears to be an Aussie / Other Shepherd type mix about 1.5 years old. He was found turned out on the streets, which is just heartbreaking to think about given all of the terrible weather events and lack of power hitting that area recently. He is tall, long and lean, and would be a great adventure partner for hikes or running.
Buster is working on learning some manners in his foster home, as he very much thinks he should be a lap dog or that standing up on people to give them kisses is a good idea. He is playing well with the two other male dogs in the home, as well as the two kiddos. He is curiously cautious around the cat (aren't we all?). He is starting crate training for sleeping, knows how to take himself out the dog door for bathroom and yard play time, and is learning basic commands (sit, his name, outside, etc.) He is such a sweet and happy guy, and will give the occasional toothy smile when he is looking for affection or trying to coax his way onto the couch.

Puppies!
Denver, CO
Welcome little crew to Denver. We have 6 mixed breed puppies 11 weeks old from unknown parents. We believe they are Lab/cattle dog mixes. They were left on the doorstep of a shelter in Kansas after dark. The staff there cared for them and they are ready to go home! They should be medium sized dogs very social and well adjusted. Three males and three females. Their adoption fee is $250 which includes their spay/neuter and microchip.
Sirius
Casper, WY
Sirius came to us from a high kill shelter in Texas. He is a medium size mixed breed boy about 35 pounds and 3 years old. He is a happy friendly guy but does have stranger danger with men initially. Somewhere in his past he was likely abused and will need a ladies only home or a family that is able to work with him to overcome his fear. He does warm up with treats and happily works for food. He plays well in open areas with other dogs but is reactive on leash out and about when meeting new people and other dogs. He is doing well with a gentle leader. Sirius is good in the house, housetrained and likes playing with toys. He wants to be right next to (mostly in your lap) his person and loves attention. He is neutered, fully vetted and Heartworm negative. If you feel you can work with Sirius and give him a forever home please contact us.
Momma Mia
Cheyenne WY
MIA is a 5 to 6 year old Australian Kelpie (mix?). She is a quiet, solemn dog who loves to nap on a floor pillow or on the couch. She gets along with other dogs as long as they do not mind her sometimes bossy nature. She has no trouble meeting new people. We do not know how she is with cats, but she would probably keep the litter box clean if allowed. She is very smart and could get into trouble if left to her own devices.
Mia came to us Heartworm positive and is currently in the final stages of her treatment. Because of this, her activities have been severely restricted so we do not know her actual energy level. She may be a dog of low to moderate energy. She shows signs of wanting to play with her foster brothers when outside. She will need to be kept on heartworm preventative.
Mia rarely barks, is mostly housebroken, has a waggely tail, and travels well if she can look out the window at the world. She has had some obedience training in the past so she knows “sit”, “come”, “off” (the bed or couch), whoa or hey (when attempting to race after bunnies), prefers not to “down” but will if convinced to do so, we are working on “wait” (at the doors of both house and vehicle). She prefers not to “stay” since then she is left without her person nearby. We are trying to work on that but she has a stubborn attitude regarding being left behind. She came to us with terrible table manners - she is a pro at begging for food. We are addressing this issue also and she is begrudgingly learning to stay on her pillow or in the next room during meal time. Mia has been known to eat goodies from trash cans or off the ground, hence the “mostly housebroken” statement. She walks well on a leash.
Mia is a bit skittish and tends to cower a little so will only be adopted to a household on the quiet side with adults only or having older children who are dog savvy. She will need an experienced dog owner who can help her with these behaviors.

Stella
Applications are on hold
Billings, MT
Stella is between 1.5-2 years old. Spayed female. Stella is an Idaho Shag. An Idaho Shag is specifically bred to herd live stock. Stella weighs about 35lbs & has a really good start on competitive obedience training (stay, come, sit, heel). She is crate trained & house trained. She loves people & is a good snuggler. As cute as she is, Miss Stella has been known to instigate fights with some of her other canine house mates. She typically gets along well & likes to play with other dogs. Stella is active & intelligent. She would excel in agility or herding or other performance events. We are seeking a dog savvy performance or working home for Stella.
SADIE
Evergreen, CO
Adoption Pending
What a long road Sadie has traveled. Sadie was found pregnant wandering a highway in Kansas, she was taken in by a kind family. They gave her a safe place to have her puppies and for the puppies to grow up, the puppies all found homes. The family was intending to keep Sadie, however being a Border Collie, Sadie wanted to do what Border Collies do and she kept getting into the neighbors cattle. She finally made her way to us in Colorado. As you can see by the pictures she is a sleek, smooth-coat, 3 year old Border Collie weighing about 38 pounds. Sadie is athletic and sweet, she needs a home that can exercise both her body and mind. She would make a great running partner and be ready to cuddle up afterwards. She is good on a leash, great in the car, likes people and likes all the dogs at her foster home. Somewhere in her journey to us she lost part of her tail. She is spayed, heartworm negative and up to date on her vaccinations. No cats, or very young kids. No apartments will be considered!
