BENTLEY

Picture
Bentley is a 2 1/2 yr old neutered Aussie/Golden mix that grew up in rural Pennsylvania where he had lots of room to run and play and expend all of his energy.  His family  moved to Denver and he now lives in an apartment, sadly this guy is just not cut out for apartment living and his family has decided the only right thing to do is find Bentley a more suitable home.  Since moving into an apartment Bentley has gained some weight and started some inappropriate behaviors, namely barking and some fear aggression towards other dogs. Bentley will probably never be a "dog park" dog, it just worries him when other dogs come up to him, he really just wants them to go away. Bentley really loves to play frisbee, but never gets the opportunity anymore because he has no yard and leash laws in Denver mean he can't be off leash. More exercise, lots more exercise and ongoing training will surely help him better deal with these issues.  Bentley would probably do best as an only dog  He has been through obedience training, is a great hiking, running or walking partner and is good with kids. He is just not meant to be a city dog.  Bentley needs a home that can exercise both his mind and body on very regular basis.  Bentley is in Denver

ISABELLA

Isabella is a 6 year old spayed female Australian Shepherd. She is a sweet affectionate girl.
House trained & gets along with other dogs and all types of people. She loves to play ball & tug-o-war. Isabella would love a home where she can go for walks & be a part of the family. Isabella is in Colorado

DUDE

Picture
Dude is a diamond in the ruff!  He's about 7 months old and very handsome.
Dude has not had much training, but he sure minds well.  He follows me all
over, comes running when I call him and loves to be petted and told he is a good
boy.  He has been playing with the dogs, didn't bother the cat and seems to
be a pretty happy little guy.  He is being fostered in Buffalo, WY.

CANDY

Candy is barely 12 months old. She is a spayed female Boxer/Border Collie/Heinz 57 mix. She has been temperament tested and is good with other dogs, cats and all types of people. Really, Candy is just a puppy still although she recently had 2 puppies that have already been adopted. She loves toys and will be a super companion. She is petite, only about 40 lbs.  We have been waiting for and Candy and she is finally in Denver.  This is what her foster mom had to say " I am stunned at what a good dog this is. She is friendly, welcomed guests to our house and is great  with my dogs. She slept quietly on the floor next to our bed all night. She is housebroken and loves her toys but hasn't touched a thing in our house. She is perfect and will make a great addition to an active family". Candy is fostered in the DU area in Denver

TUCKER

Hard to believe but this is Tucker's story.    Tucker was found in Saratoga WY chained to a fence with a sign
saying "FREE DOG". The sign had his name on it, said he was housebroken, good with other dogs, and well trained. He is a very good boy between 3 and 5 years old, not yet neutered. He does get along with other dogs, seems like he probably is housebroken, does know some commands, and walks well on leash.  He is getting him fixed and vaccinated next week. Tucker will be fostered in Cheyenne WY

MISSY

Missy came from a shelter in Canyon City CO.  She is a Border Collie almost 8 years old, sweet, demure, friendly, and lives for walks.  About19-20 inches high, 47.2 lbs, she is loosing a little weight.to get better in shape. Being on a good diet is improving her weight and her coat. Friendly with everyone and a
very happy dog, Missy likes to tug on toys, play ball, go jogging, and go for rides in the car.   She is a quiet dog and only barks to let you know she wants something. Missy is looking for a forever home and is being fostered near the Denver Tech area in Colorado.

RUSTY

Picture
Rusty is a two year old neutered male Doberman Pinscher. What an awesome dog he is. Rusty is house trained and loves all types of people. He gets along great with other dogs. He is not good with cats. Rusty knows how to sit, down,  and is good walking on leash. His foster home started doing some basic agility training with him. We see real potential in Rusty as an agility dog or an obedience dog. Of course he has great potential to be someone's best buddy too. Rusty is very playful and a real love bug. He is in a foster home in Newport, WA.

ZACH

Zach is approx 3 yrs old. He looks to be a purebred Aussie with no tail. He is neutered and has had a vet check-up.  Zach is a very sweet mellow boy who loves people. He is good in the car and on walks.  He will make a wonderful companion for a lucky person/family.  Hurry contact  Western Australian Shepherd Rescue to set up a meet and greet for this special boy. Zach is fostered in Evergreen CO

MIDNIGHT

Midnight is a Lab mix of some sort. She lost her home when her owner died. She was his beloved pet but there was no family to take her. Midnight is a perfect lady. She is house trained, good with other dogs, cats, has nice house manners, is sweet and playful. Midnight is spayed and we believe she is 6-7 years old. If you are looking for the almost perfect dog Midnight might be your match. She is currently in a foster home in Cheyenne, WY.

LANCE

Lance is a handsome 9 year old neutered male Australian Shepherd. Lance is house trained and a very nice gentleman. He prefers the company of female dogs and most of all LOVES people. He is a typical Aussie and enjoys his exercise but also likes to hang out and relax too. Alert, with intelligent eyes and hoping to find his forever home

ADDI

ADDI

Addi is a 5 year old, female pure bred Australian Shepherd that was purchased from a breeder in Southern Colorado. Due to changes in her owner's living situation, she is available for adoption at this time.  Once papers are received from the breeder she will be registered with the Australian Shepherd Club of America (ASCA).

Addi is a sweet, social dog that gets along well with other dogs and children. While she “protects” her home by barking, she is not the least bit aggressive.  She was raised on a farm with room to roam, loves walks, chasing rabbits and retrieving balls.  She is housebroken and follows simple commands.  Like most Aussies, Addi has lots of energy and needs a “job.”  While she has not had the opportunity to really test her herding instincts, she is very smart and would do well with a new owner interested in working with her on some agility training.  Addi was raised with two other dogs, and enjoys their company, but definitely needs some space and would probably not do well in a subdivision with only a small back yard.

Addi is spayed and current on all her vaccinations.  She does have acid reflux, or “ heartburn”  that is easily controlled with a low cost over-the-counter acid reducer that she takes daily.  Changing Addi's diet and avoiding giving fats and protien rich foods may also help her. For canine acid reflux, the most beneficial diet will be low in fat and low in protien, according to PetMD.com with food intake spread over smaller, more frequent meals, but check with your vet first. Otherwise she is a happy, healthy dog.

BANDIT

Hello My name is Bandit and I'm a cattle dog miv.  They named me that because of the markings on my face, but I am not really a Bandit!  You can trust me as far as you can see me.  I am very loyal and love living my foster family very much.  You see, I lived in a shelter for a year waiting for someone to take me home.  People came in looking for  a companion and just passed me by.  Do you think it was my funny ears?  They are bionic according to my foster mom.  Finally a nice lady rescued me from the shelter and the folks at Western Australian Shepherd Rescue took me in.  They saw my wonderful smile and good manners.  I am 6 years old, but don't let that deter you.  I am the perfect age!!  I'm done with the chewing and digging and full of spunk for playing, walking and hiking. you can see by my smile I'm ready for some laid back time whenever you are.  I love all the other dogs (ten of them) at my foster home. Children love to play with me as much as I love them.   NO CATS     Please consider giving me a home forever and ever.          Contact    ronda.heimsoth@gmail.com

DORY

My name is Dory!  I am a lovely gal with a sweet demeanor.  I am an Australian Cattle Dog so I need lots of exercise and fun things to do to stay healthy and happy.   I love to play ball and I'm a real clown when I run past my ball thrower and they think I am returning the ball. Then when they chase me, I do eventually I give the ball back.  I am 4 years old, spayed, microchipped and up to date on all my vaccinations.  I get along with dogs as long as they are not dominant and once I establish some rules things go good.  Just give me a slow introduction to get acquainted. I am very affectionate and love to snuggle. You can see by my eyes that I love everyone and they love to play with me,  including my foster mom's 6 year old granddaughter.  Please give me a forever home.  I will be grateful forever.  Dory is being fostered in Cheyenne contact Ronda      ronda.heimsoth@gmail.com

MAX

Meet Max!
Max is about six years old. He came to a shelter as a stray and so not much about his past is known but he is being rehomed because of a toddler that is VERY allergic to him. He is a lover. Max is a very sweet dog,  is amazing with kids (of all ages – baby to teen) and does very well with cats and other dogs. Max loves belly rubs, being brushed, and going for walks. However… he also loves food. All food. This might be why he is overweight.  He loves getting baths and haircuts at the groomer!   When he sees kids or other dogs walking down the street  just wants to play. We are working on manners, he will “sit” and “stay” if he gets a treat. This is his way of saying hello, but he needs to work on it.
Max would make a perfect addition to any household. Max would make a perfect addition to any active household. He is a protector, but non-aggressive, and loves to play. He may be getting older, but he has the spirit of a puppy. Max is a very happy dog and can’t wait to meet you!  Max is in Ft Collins CO

STORMY

Picture
Stormy needs a new home. She is a 6 year old spayed female
Australian Shepherd Collie mix. She is in good health and her owner recently had her teeth cleaned and blood work completed. It takes Stormy awhile to get acquainted with new people and then she is fine. The best way to her heart is through her stomach. Give her a milk bone a few times and she is your friend. She loves to play and is a happy dog. Loves her stuffed toys. She has been around children and is fine. She has not been exposed to many other animals so we don't know how she would be with cats. She loves to go for walks and she is a great traveler. So you are wondering why does such a  great dog need a new home? Because her owner is seriously ill and no longer able to care for her. Stormy will remain with her owner as long as she is able to and unti we can find Stormy a new home.  Stormy is located in Louisville, Nebraska.

PEEWEE IS READY FOR A HOME

PEEWEE UPDATE!
Peewee is ready for a home! He is now 4 weeks in to recovery from his surgery and ready to go. We are now seeing Peewee want to run (doctor's orders, no running) and play which was not something he wanted to do prior to surgery. He is walking and only slightly favors his leg! Hurray! Thank you to all who donated and supported Peewee! He will be running before you know it. Now believe it or not we have discovered yet another fabulous ability this dog possesses. He can catch flies and other flying insects like nothing. We are very impressed. He would be a great dog to take to a picnic.
